Polimom Says

A different world

AC’s bookbag is frequently packed with odd things when she comes home from school, but this afternoon had something a bit different:

“Dear Parents,
[….] During arrival / breakfast time, a fifth grader told the cafeteria manager that there was a bomb in the 5th grade hall.”

Since no parents were notified (until about half an hour ago when this letter started arriving in the homes of nearly 1,000 students), I have to assume that something in the 5th grader’s delivery style allowed the school to take the bomb scare with a big grain of salt.

“The Katy ISD Police and Katy ISD Safety Manager were called immediately. All students and staff were held in the gym and cafeteria until the affected area was cleared by emergency personnel. […] All students werre returned to class and normal routines resumed by 8:40 am.

Amazing. Needless to say, AC and I have reviewed our list of “things that really aren’t funny these days”…
This is definintely not the world I grew up in.
