Polimom Says

Anonymity 101

You’d think folks would have figured this out by now.

NEW YORK – The lawyer for the call girl linked to the downfall of Gov. Eliot Spitzer lashed out at the media on Friday for thrusting the 22-year-old woman into the “public glare” without her consent and publishing revealing photos.

Myself, I think the media has gone over the line by sharing this girl’s photos all over creation. It was hardly necessary; had they merely posted a link to her MySpace page, the information would have been disseminated just as widely… and it could easily have happened without the MSM’s pointers.
So — one more time for the novices: The anonymity of the internet only extends as far as you let it.

If you’ve hung yourself out there for all the world to see, you really have only yourself to thank for it.
