Bedfellows along the border

Tell me something. Does this sound familiar to you?

Does it have, perhaps, just the slightest bit of commonality with this:

[…] there is a “tsunami” of illegal immigration coming across the Texas border and many have to be suspected of al-Qaida ties. “If you think of it as an army of jihadists coming into the country to do corporate style al-Qaida attacks, simultaneous attacks, everyone counts,

The first quote is from the Arizona Republic, and is attributed to the Chris Simcox, a co-founder of the Minutemen Project and founder of the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps.
The second quote is from the Texas Politics blog, and is attributed to the Director of Texas Homeland Security. (Read the comments, there, by the way.)
It’s one thing to share similar views of an issue, but it’s another thing altogether when they’re regurgitating the same words. Polimom can’t help wondering how much time these men have spent in one another’s company recently, particularly given the controversy surrounding Mr. Simcox‘s history and methodology.
The obvious overlap of terminology between these two individuals is bothering me. A lot.
