Polimom Says

Busy Polimom

Some days, it’s hard to figure out what makes sense to post where… and when I put something on the Chron, I’m afflicted with guilt. (Pretty strange, I know. Can’t explain some things…)
So, in case you’re wondering whether I’m just snoozing the day away, here’s what else is going on for Polimom:
Since it looks like the Senate might actually move its compromise bill through, I decided to post an opinion piece to the Chron about it. If you’re following this issue, you can read it here: The Senate’s immigration bill – a compromise that needs accountability
Also – down where I am, summer is here. AC is swimming every day (Swim Team), and it’s HOT HOT HOT already. Tragically, with that has come a whole slew of local stories about kids – big and little – drowning. As it happens, Polimom had a couple of personal tales to tell about kids and water safety: Two summer stories
And finally (although I haven’t posted about it elsewhere) – there’s more information about Andres Gonzalez – the officer that was shot in Algiers two days ago. NOLA.com has the story here, and a fund has been set up to help his family. They have, they say, caught the man who shot him. Sadly, he’s yet another who has cycled endlessly through New Orleans’ Criminal Justice revolving door.
