Polimom Says

Fournier counsels the uppity Obama

Wow. What happened to Ron Fournier today? Bad hangover or something?

But there’s a line smart politicians don’t cross — somewhere between “I’m qualified to be president” and “I’m born to be president.” Wherever it lies, Barack Obama better watch his step.
He’s bordering on arrogance.

Such a bizarre article! This AP writer takes 733 words to tell us that it’s okay that the Clintons absolutely embody arrogance, because it’s just expected of them; that there’s a certain amount of self-importance required for anyone to contemplate being POTUS… but Obama needs to watch his step?

It may be that he has just the right mix of confidence and humility to lead the nation (Obama likes to say, “I’m reminded every day that I’m not a perfect man”). But if the young senator wins the nomination, even the smallest trace of arrogance will be an issue with voters who still consider him a blank slate.

Maybe it’s something worse than a hangover. Let’s see…. somebody cut him off on the road? He lost his favorite parking spot?  Pet dog died?   Cuz I really can’t easily explain this massive load of garbage.

The power of his message lies in its humility. As he told 7,000 supporters at a rally last month, “I am an imperfect vessel for your hopes and dreams.”
Nobody expects Obama to be perfect. But he better never forget that he isn’t.

Yes indeedy. Better listen up, Obama. This is, as an Editor Footnote tells us, the important Ron Fournier, who “has covered politics for The Associated Press for nearly 20 years.”
*ahem*
Does anybody but me hear Fournier saying, “That Negro is really getting uppity!”
