From the Road (Day Three)

Day three actually started as a coda to day two, because Pennsylvania road construction kept me from getting to a covered bridge that was on my list to see.  Rather than give up and go on up the highway to the next random adventure, I grabbed a hotel for the night and mapped a different approach for the morning.
Several winding backroads later, I found it.

The Josiah Hess bridge is so scenic, in fact, that I simply stopped photographing others that I saw after it.  Just as well, probably, since otherwise I wouldn’t have had time for this:

Rickett’s Glen was quite the test of my broken foot, btw.  I only went maybe 1/3 of the way (and saw 4 or 5 of the many waterfalls), but I think 4 miles or so is ample.  It was aching quite a bit when I finished the hike, but ohmygoodness it was worth it.

I liked the delicacy of these finer flows, but I’m sure the falls are even more spectacular in the spring when there’s more water.  Definitely a place to visit again (when my foot’s all better!!!).
And — I’ve now settled into the Endless Mountain region of Pennsylvania for a couple days.  Not sure what, if anything, I’ll be posting for a bit, since visiting with family calls for a totally different kind of ‘focus’.
Later.
