Polimom Says

If you could go anywhere, where would it be?

When my cousin got stuck with an unplanned 3+ hour layover in some airport in the back of beyond the other day, the first person she thought of was Polimom. (Given my horrible plane karma, calling me in such a situation is always good for a laugh.) But as we chatted, it turned out that she had another reason for calling.
What would I think, she wondered, of making a photography trip? Would I be interested in hooking up with her and her sister (both very talented photographers) for a long weekend someplace?
Yesyesyes! Anyplace at all, I said, that I can fly directly — or at least get close. No changing planes for me or I’ll never get there. (Did I mention my plane karma? LOL!)
And so it’s agreed: we three, who live in Texas, California, and Kansas, are going to get together someplace for four days or so, to shoot photos. Someplace picturesque, and off the beaten path. Someplace different.
But where to go?
Between us, we’ve hit the obvious destinations. But that still leaves tons of places we’ve never been. Not only that, but I’m positive there are even more locations that I’ve never heard of. (You don’t know what you don’t know, as they say.)
So I’m asking for a little help.
If you could fly anywhere at all in the US for a photo-shoot, where would it be? And why?
