I admit it. I didn’t know this. Since I’m just a Y-deficient blogger, though, I had to check with Dear Husband. And it turns out she’s right!
DH confirms that he did not actually read the 200+ military books in his library. Rather, he placed them under his pillow at night. It’s a slow process, he says, but relatively painless as long as he doesn’t try to absorb more than one or two at a time.
I wonder, though, whether he couldn’t have just kinda stood around near some other guys who already knew this stuff, and just absorbed it all that way? Also — do you think beer-swilling helps the process or hurts?
Best of all (for me) — Dana Perino’s enlightened input explains the single biggest shock I had after I married DH: that all men are not actually born with the ability to work on cars. Now that I understand the process, though, maybe I’ll just buy him some books and he can sleep on it.
