I can’t even remember anymore who gave me this little fairy.
She’s been out there under the hibiscus, though, for years now… and she never fails to remind me of how much I love to read.
And I read a lot. As much as possible, in fact — books and stories from every possible genre and about any culture and time.
Yesterday’s book was called City of Thieves by David Benioff– a brilliantly executed novel about Russia and the siege of Leningrad during the Second World War. I highly recommend it. It’s gritty, sad, happy, funny, and chock-full of the fatalism that permeates Russian literature.
Since I’m expecting to be released by the surgeon to start driving tomorrow (!!!), I’m gonna be heading to the bookstore. I’ve read absolutely everything in the house… so tell me: Have you read any good books lately? What should I read next?
I recommend you visit the library. They have more books than you could possibly read in your entire lifetime and they won’t cost you a penny! 🙂
I’m a constant reader, too, and l read in every genre. This is my booklist on goodreads – I hope this link works:

I really do need to remember (and visit) the library more often. You’re absolutely right about that as a source Goldenrod – -thanks for the reminder.
Nancy — VERY cool link! I love that you’ve rated each of them with stars!!! I see a couple in there that look intriguing. Judging by some of your titles, you’re a parent of a teen? (or maybe teenagers?) I’m always looking for new things for my teen to read (tough to judge this genre sometimes), so your list was doubly helpful for me. Thank you!
Actually I’m a mom of a 6-year-old, but I still really enjoy a lot of young adult lit. Goodreads is awesome! If you sign up there, let me know. Got any recommendations for me? 🙂
