Polimom and Adorable Child (AC) left for London last night, unfortunately leaving Dear Husband (DH) behind to hold the fort (and earn the $). This entry is posting in absentia.
Since our apartment will have wireless broadband access, Polimom’s plan is to blog lightly from the UK, but we all know what happens sometimes to those best-laid-plans… Fingers crossed! In the eventuality of a snafu, however, Polimom has written several entries that will reveal themselves in our absence. I did not write enough to cover two weeks, though – so if posting is light, that’ll be why.
It will be AC’s first trip across the Atlantic, and my first in 22 years. You’ll be stunned to learn that Polimom didn’t have an opportunity to meet the Queen on my first trip. Perhaps this time? (smile…)
We’ve packed everything except the kitchen sink, and I only left that out because a) it wouldn’t fit in the suitcases and b) I can’t wear it. Otherwise, though, I think we have every eventuality covered. They tell me my shorts and tanks might not be quite warm enough this time of year, though, so I added my one sweater. (I mean c’mon, it’s March in Houston. Must be warm everywhere, right?)
Next post from England. I hope.

Polimom’s pretty far behind the power-curve this morning. For some reason, my mind has turned to mush and I can’t pull a coherent thought together, much less write. Sigh…. I’m going back to bed. I’ll start the day again later. …
Yesterday morning, Polimom had a post ready to go, but events overtook me. Here’s my backyard at 7 am: Here it is at 9:00 (we were already trying to unravel dial-up problems): Shortly after that last shot was taken, they …
Last week, at 11-5 against the spread, the Golden Coin outperformed Polimom yet again. In fact, Polimom’s only beat the Coin once in the last 3 weeks (since I started using it), and that was Week 12. (The Coin went …

Hey, maybe you can see Harry Shearer while you’re there!
Also, oddly enough, first time I read the first sentence, I thought you wrote “affordable child”, not “adorable child”. At this point, with 3 of them, none over 4 years old, I didn’t see how there was such a thing as an affordable child.
Have fun.
“Affordable child”. Now that is funny – and definitely does not apply, even to my one. :>
And yes, we’re having a blast! I’m just the slightest bit worried that our hands and feet will start to web, though, before we return.
