Well, that would appear to be that. Harriet Miers is walking away from the fray.
It’s hard to say who will be happier – the religious right, who clearly need a flag-waving anti-abortion justice (no, George, they really didn’t trust you), or the liberal left, who did believe George this time.
Made for an interesting week or two, though, didn’t it?
