Thursday morning, Polimom and Dear Husband embarked, yet again, on Phase I of the South Beach Diet. For the record: this is really hard to do when two people in a household of three start eating differently… and the third is a teenager with a sweet tooth.
I’m proud to say, though, that throughout last night’s 4th of July party — in the face of cherry pie and frosted (red white and blue) sugar cookies — we stood strong.
Well… okay…. maybe “strong” is a bit misleading. The more correct description is that we (I) managed to pass by those goodies many times and managed to stay upright in spite of my weak, quaking knees.
If I can survive last night, I can do anything.
