Have you ever noticed how some folks seem to get called for Jury Duty every other week or so? My mom’s a great one for it; her number’s always up for some reason.
But not Polimom. I have never, in all these [mumble-mumble] years, been allowed into the secret Jury Duty handshake society… until now!
Yes, today – perhaps even as you read this, Polimom will for the first time ever be sitting with a whole bunch of other citizens, waiting to be initiated into the secret rites. Can’t wait, actually. I’m told it’s kind of like childbirth – it has to be experienced to be appreciated.
Guess we’ll see about that. I’ll let ya know. (smile…)
So anyway – probably light posting today.
When I get called for jury duty they always show us a little film explaining what the jury is and does. They say that the US has two-thirds of the jury trials in the world. The only weird thing is that the film seems to be bragging about how many jury trials we have rather than being abashed by the fact.
