  1. Thanks for letting us in on this. This is very helpful. My wife and I were about to open our yoga studio at the corner of Pelican and Verret in just a couple of weeks. Can anyone let us know if the house at 501 Pelican sustained serious damage? A quick look at windows and roof would be so much appreciated. You can write to us at artopiahouse@gmail.com — artopiahouse

  2. thank you and god bless you. Our home is at 439 Pacific (Pacific between Eliza and Alix). You have no idea how relieved I am to hear this, but still just so devastated at the total loss in the rest of new orleans. reports from the building where my business is at saint charles in jackson are also encouraging. the building has security so I am not worried about looting, even though it seems to be a madhouse down at the walgreens by houstons.
but even with these two areas of my life intact physically, I know that business in the city is devastated and will be for months.

  3. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR WRITE-UP!
Would you happen to have any news about 339 Belleville Street. There is a 100 yr-old live oak that we are worried about (along with our house!).
Any info you could give would be greatly appreciated!

  4. If there is any way could someone if they are doing a ‘walk by’ give me some information on 416 eliza St? Thank you so very much for this site and the info I’ve been able to get so far.

  5. Any chance on someone doing a walk by of 214 Delaronde? Just a quick survey of roof/windows would suffice and be greatly greatly appreciated! Thanks for all the great postings of information

  6. I just wanted to say thank you for this write up. It’s a great relief. I just hope that my home wasn’t one of the one’s leveled. I hope you’re right about the uninhabited part. I live at 538 Pacific and all of this is a huge relief to me.
Thank you very much and please, if you get any further information, do post it. I’ll be checking this blog regularly now…

  7. Thanks for letting us find out as well, seems to be the most consolidated spot for news on The Point, we will share with others. Looking for info on 420 Pacific please. Our hearts go out to all. We thank God the Point is not flooded and hope it stays that way and that the sun will continue to shine so that those of us with damage can get back to put tarps on it. Be safe.

  8. Thank you so much for the update. If you have time, could you pass on the condition of 326 Pelican? Even if you can’t check specific houses, we really appreciate continuing updates on general conditions. Let us know if you need anything when we come back in…Peace

  9. Polimom, you are the BEST! Thanks for your efforts. I live on Belleville, but am on temporary assignment in hte Middle East. I have been going crazy trying to get info. You have put my mind somewhat at ease. Is there any word on when residents will be allowed to return?
