Betwixt and between commenting yesterday, Poli gave way to Mom, as we hosted AC’s tenth birthday party, complete with the usual cake and ice cream, strange games, and a trip to the pool. (Okay, it was two pools… we didn’t like the first one…)
As if that wasn’t enough, we kept five of these pre-teen bundles of energy overnight… which means fruit trays, popcorn, movies, a fashion show… and exhausted parents the next day. (We gave in around 1:30 am, and I know they weren’t done yet. They were, however, safely confined…)
Not to say this wasn’t a blast (it was!!!), but Polimom’s a bit hungover from all the excitement (and no, we won’t be trying for some hair of this particular dog to recover). I’m thinkin’ some sleep will be just fine.
SO! How was your weekend?

Like everybody else, Polimom’s looked at this upside down and sideways, and I keep circling back to the same problem: if Hezbollah’s goal (along with Syria and Iran) is to remove Israel from middle eastern maps, what is that we …
Adorable Child just called from school. It seems that she needs me to rush right up there (*snort!!*) to sign a form. (It’s the last day, Mom!) Sorry, AC. Can’t rush up there right now. So she says it’ll be …
Hey! This freedom of speech thing is pretty cool! It allows people to write crap like this, and likewise allows people like me to call it out for what it is: bigoted, racist, sexist tripe! Full story here and here, …
Santa brought me a new lens for Christmas. It’s a Nikkor 300mm f/2.8, and it’s an intimidating monster — so much so that it was at least two weeks before I’d even attach it to the camera! But when I …

I recently married-off the youngest of my three daughters. We thought we were smart waiting the six years for the first and six years between each consecutive child. There was something we forgot. The way we did it means it takes minimum 36 year and NOTHING works at the minimum. *LOL*
So I have a question for you:
Is it possible to solve the nations energy crises by bottling up half the energy of 10-to-11-year-old girls? If so would you do that, or use it to recharge parents trying to keep up with them?
Best of luck with your crew and remember something – raising children the day seem like they take a year, but looking back the years with them seem like days. Enjoy them dear lady. They’ll never be that way again.
God Bless

I think that, if you could find a way to bottle up the energy output of the children between 2 and 22 years old, we wouldn’t need to burn any more oil, coal, natural gas, or neutrons to light our houses.
Hope you got a good day’s sleep, PM – I bet you needed it 🙂
