For whatever reason, my head just isn’t in the blogging game today.
I’m not sure whether it’s an emotional hangover from that adrenaline-filled Saints game last night, or the more mundane problem of Christmas coming in less than two weeks, and me with not the first present purchased (probably the latter).
With a little luck, I’ll manage to stumble into the one store in the mall that has the perfect present for everyone, and free my mind for other things soon.
In the meanwhile, though, I wanted to mention that voting for
is going on, and there are some wonderful blogs there for which you can vote.
Myself, I’ve been trying to unravel the technical challenges of stuffing a virtual ballot box, so I can overwhelm the Best Humor Blog category for my favorite Jon Swift. He’s absolutely hysterical, as are many of his intellectually-stymied commenters.
Since I can’t figure it out, I’m hoping y’all can help me, either by giving him LOTS of votes, or telling me how to rig the system.
Seems only fair, since the system itself is so clearly susceptible to fraud. Otherwise, how to explain the strangeness in… say… the Best Conservative Blog category, where Captain’s Quarters is losing to the raving maniacs from lgf? (I wanna see a paper trail on that one!) And while we’re at it… who on earth thought Ann Althouse belonged in the “centrist” category?
All very diverting, I must say.
I’m pleased, though, to see so many of my friends in the running (in quite a few categories), and I wish them all well. And for the record, I’ll stuff all their ballot boxes, too, just as soon as I unravel the technical problems…
Voted for Jon Swift, of course!! Can’t get through the week without his stuff. Haven’t figured out how to stuff the box yet, will try voting again later today and see if it’s accepted. My guess is we’ll have to delete our cookies in order to vote more than once but will let you know what I find.
Where’s yours? What category? Made it through a couple categories, but not all.
Ah, slate — your faith in me is warming, but misplaced. I’m evidently far too lowly to have made the final cut.
LOL!!!!
However, you’ll find The Moderate Voice in the Centrist category, and though I just started co-blogging on Joe’s site, it’s a vote for me, too. You’ll also find the Gun Toting Liberal, who so very kindly nominated me in that category . I enjoy him a great deal, also.
Finally, there’s another TMV blogger whose blog is in a totally different category (related to the ecosphere — a place where Polimom does not appear at all, bizarrely). You’ll find his blog — The Debate Link — included in this group (link), and he’s also a long-time resident on my blogroll.
1– make up a buncha 1 time e-mail addys
2– use a different proxy everytime to register to vote
3– AND IMPORTANT!…delete any cookies sent from the site from the last time you voted
4– Poor Dallas, ouch— 🙂
HAHAHAHAHAHA blueshead, Poor Dallas is right! It was a blast to watch, though. (Gotta love that onsides kick!) My Adorable Child, unfortunately, kept getting woken up by my yelling and laughing in the den.
And hey, you guys — I was kidding! No vote-bombing. Not goin’ there, nope nope.
Actually, I am not sure that the directions blueshead gave for stuffing the ballotbox would work (except maybe for #2 – as I recall the mechanism registers the IP address used, and ‘locks it out’ from that ballot for 24 hours.) Which, sadly, may provide a more secure platform against voting fraud than many of our much-vaunted election systems that were used in November. 🙁
