You may have noticed that Polimom tends to get gabby sometimes. What you may not know, though, is that there are days when I stop posting, even though I have still more to yammer about!
::grinning::
So – The Houston Chronicle has kindly provided a bit more room to voice these apparently endless opinions. They’ve set me up with something we’re calling “Polimom, Too” (catchy, eh?), and to help you find your way, I’ve added the link in the left nav, too (under Daily Reads – go figure).
Polimom, Too will not, generally, have the same posts, though there may be occassions when I’ll cross-reference for expansion or clarity. Hopefully it won’t be too confusing or clunky. We’ll see how it goes…

Tres Kewl Polimom!
I have you linked.
Namaste!
Great news! Good for you….I’ll be reading, my friend!
BRAVO! Poli, that is great news! I’m so happy for you and of course I’ll read and link!! Go, YOU!
::blushing furiously::
Thanks, y’all. Hopefully it’ll be fun – and if it’s not, c’est la vie, eh? I’m thinking more along the lines of “hmm… I’ll try it and see….”
It’s in what they call the “Commons” – a reader blog – so it may very well be that nobody will read it… or like it…. or whatever. I do think, though, that I am gonna have to brush up on my organizational skills, or I’ll never remember where I put stuff! lol
Congratulations! Soon, you’ll be able to do this for a living!
Peace,
Tim
Congrats Polimom.
Congratulations,
You seem an intelligent and thoughtful moderate voice. Where do you fall on the world’s shortest political quiz? Where do you fall?
http://www.self-gov.org/quiz.html
Do you classify yourself as Independent, republican, Republican leaning, Democratic leaning or Democrat. Have you ever voted for third party candidates?
What politcal process reforms do you think are needed now?
Curious,
Gary
Gary –
Gracious! I don’t think I’ll be able to go too deeply in the comments section – so here’s the short version:
I took the quiz, and disturbed the poor napping dog with my hysterical laughter when I landed almost bang on the middle, as a “centrist”. (I was one square off, to the top left.)
I classify myself as an Independent, and would probably say I lean ever-so-slightly Republican (in spite of the quiz result). Actually, though, I lean mostly in terms of government size, decentralization, intervention, etc. (i.e. the more classical version, as opposed to the current). I’m also a personal responsibility advocate, but have absolutely no interest in abandoning social safety nets, SS, etc. We need them.
Interestingly, my DH (Dear Husband) tells me he would have described me as ever-so-slightly Democrat-leaning.
And yes, I’ve voted third party.
Your last question is rather a lot harder, unfortunately. I’ll have to ponder that one. I’ve been very focused in recent years on the ongoing split in America between what has become overly generalized into “left” and “right”.
(Does that help with your questions?)
