Adorable Child was crushed at the beginning of this school year. Although she spent much of the summer at various volleyball camps, and practiced those skills at every opportunity, she didn’t make the 7th grade volleyball team.
It wasn’t because she’s not good enough, though. Rather, there was a situation from 6th grade that followed her forward and affected the situation negatively.
Life has a funny way of accumulating the past and dropping it into your lap, doesn’t it?
But AC didn’t just learn that actions and events carry forward. It turns out getting up at 5 am to make a before-school practice every day is beyond painful, and her friends who did make the team are slowly coming unraveled.
The 8th grade VB team, though, practices in the afternoons — and I have no doubt AC will be on it.
Sometimes, not getting what you wanted turns out to be best… and either Barack Obama or John McCain are about to learn this same lesson.
