  1. Ah. Yes, that’s true. I don’t think of them as being in the “center” (aka moderate) on many of their political theories, however.

  2. Yes, there are many “third” parties out there, but none have any true sway in politics. For me, the most telling justification for a major shift in politics is simply the results of the last two presidential elections. The split of the vote between Republicans and Democrats was almost perfectly half and half in two consecutive elections. That tells me that we really don’t have two parties anymore. We’ve heard it anecdotally that the Republicans are spending like Democrats and the Democrats are supporting attacking Iraq and the USA PATRIOT Act.
    Well, the results of two nation-wide elections confirm what Ralph Nader said in the 2000 election: We need the Green Party to become not the third party, but the Second Party.
