Had to take Adorable Child (AC) to a doctor’s appointment today. Her doctor mentioned that she’d been seeing people all morning who “had to get in today” because they were “evacuating”.
AC confirmed that many of the kids she knows are leaving town early, so they can be safely away before Gustav comes.
Please. Stop such silliness.
Polimom and family, AC’s doctor and schoolmates… all of us live in Cinco Ranch. We’re in absolutely no danger from a hurricane this far inland, from either wind or flooding. Not only is our elevation plenty high, there are very few places in the area that have trees big enough to damage houses. In fact, the trees out here are stubby little babies, and they’re dwarfed by the homes near them.
If you’re one of those Cinco Ranch / Katy area people whose heart has begun palpitating because there’s a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico, relax.
Seriously.
