  1. It’s funny; as much as everybody has worried about whether the primary was too bruising, frankly, it strikes me a relatively mild when it comes to the specific criticisms that have been tossed back and forth (if somewhat less mild in terms of the passions of the supporters…).
    Given the vilification McCain has gotten from many elements of the Republican party it wouldn’t be too hard to construct a similar piece. And then we could focus on who said what about whom instead of pesky issues and ideas! yay!

As Harriet Christian said in the now famous video (after being ejected from the DNC Rules & By-laws committee over the weekend) “God Damn the Democrats!” and “John McCain will be the next president of the United States! ” There are millions of us out here who wholeheartedly agree with Harriet!

    This attitude cannot be reasoned with. It’s a situation of anger overcoming logic and reason and will be hard to overcome.
    But millions? Claiming that “millions” out there feel that way is just a rather sad attempt to justify the anger and total lack of logic or reason.

    No, really there are millions who would happily agree with “God Damn the Democrats!” and “John McCain will be the next president of the United States!”.
    Most people call them Republicans.
    Now wouldn’t it be nice if McCain could remember who those people over there are, and why even though they kind of look alike they are not all the same? But then McCain can’t keep straight what he believes in from one day to the next.
